Thanks for your interest in learning more about Helvetas!

Helvetas works in 35 partner countries around the world, many of which are affected by protracted and recurrent crises. Helvetas supports these populations to meet their most immediate needs, while fostering longer-term perspectives.

If you’d like to discuss opportunities to collaborate, please get in touch with Helvetas’ humanitarian response team at christian.gemperli@helvetas.org

What we do

After acute disasters, Helvetas provides emergency assistance, along with recovery solutions that support people to recover their livelihoods and critical infrastructure, while improving resilience to future disasters.

In protracted crises, our multi-sectorial, localized programs strengthen the self-reliance of conflict-affected populations by building their productive skills and supporting entrepreneurial activities, as well as ensuring their access to critical services.

Our core sectors

  • Livelihoods and economic resilience
  • Education in emergencies
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
  • Shelter and resilient infrastructure

How we work

  • Market-based and systemic approaches
  • Strengthen local response capacities
  • Emphasis on longer-term solutions

Impact

In 2024, Helvetas provided humanitarian assistance to more than 1 million people in 15 countries.
