«It’s time to recommit to Zero Hunger»

Are we on track to achieve SDG2: Zero Hunger by 2030? Spoiler alert: We are not. The 20th Global Hunger Index looks back on two decades of lessons in the fight against hunger and takes stock of how ideas and priorities have shifted over time.

The event brought together voices shaped by lived experience and professional insight:

  • Regula Rytz, President of Helvetas, opened the session
  • Andreas Sicks presented LED, GHI findings and projections, including the implications for SDG 2.
  • Esther Haldimann from Helvetas, presented the report and findings from the GHI
  • Agnes Mahembe reflected on her journey and the role of food systems in shaping futures
  • Alessandra Roversi advocated for school meals as a unifying global issue — one that not only feeds children but help them stay in school
  • Shruti Patel emphasized the importance of food vouchers and local procurement.

Please travel in a climate-friendly way and use public transportation or walk. 
Directions by public transport

From Bern railway station, take either bus line 17 or Tram 6, 7 or 8 and get off at the Kocherpark stop. The venue is just a short walk from there.

Walk

Alternatively, you can walk from the station: Exit the station towards «Bahnhofplatz». From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk.
