Two Decades of Lessons Learned in the Fight Against Hunger
«It’s time to recommit to Zero Hunger»
Are we on track to achieve SDG2: Zero Hunger by 2030? Spoiler alert: We are not. The 20th Global Hunger Index looks back on two decades of lessons in the fight against hunger and takes stock of how ideas and priorities have shifted over time.
The symposium brought together voices shaped by lived experience and professional insight:
- Regula Rytz, President of Helvetas, opens the session
- Andreas Sicks presents LED, GHI findings and projections, including the implications for SDG 2.
- Esther Haldimann from Helvetas, presents the report and findingS from the GHI
- Agnes Mahembe reflects on her journey and the role of food systems in shaping futures
- Alessandra Roversi advocated for school meals as a unifying global issue — one that not only feeds children but help them stay in school.
- Shruti Patel emphasized the importance of food vouchers and local procurement.
The GHI 2025 report and event is financially supported by the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED).
