Valérie Cavin

Valerie Cavin has a MSc in Agronomy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) worked at Helvetas from 2012-2019 and rejoined in 2022. She has particular expertise in the fields organic production, agroecology, agricultural advisory services and as an organic farmer. She also provides support in market and systemic approaches for food systems and WASH. She has a broad knowledge of behavior change methods. She worked at the Swiss Association for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas on extension methodology and organisation development, at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology on the topics of HWTS and water quality for five years and as program officer for SDC in Nepal and Switzerland for three years.

Access to and use of enough and safe water enable poor women and men to lead a healthy life by improving the quality of drinking water and reducing water-borne diseases. Better functioning water treatment and safe storage system addresses unimproved water sources and unsafe or unreliable water supplies.
