Geert van Dok

Geert van Dok is an ethnologist (lic. phil. hist.) and has been working as an expert on development policy for over 20 years. Since 2016, he has been responsible for Helvetas' public affairs on development policy vis-à-vis politics, administration and society in Switzerland and is the author of the position paper "Under the banner of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development". He was a member of the Board of the Max Havelaar Foundation Switzerland (1998-2015), co-founder and steering committee member of the Swiss Platform for Peacebuilding KOFF (2000-2010) and represents Helvetas at Alliance Sud, the Climate Alliance Switzerland and Swiss Fair Trade. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Swiss Centre of Expertise in Human Rights. Geert van Dok has published books and articles on world domestic policy, peace building, migration & development, fair trade and humanitarian aid, among others.
