Luis Alban

Luis Alban is a Project Manager for water, forests and climate change and coordinates the project “Building a Programme for Adaptation and Climate Resilience of Andean Communities and Ecosystems in Peru.”

Luis is a biologist with a specialization in integrated water resources management and conservation of forest genetic resources. He has more than 25 years of professional experience in biodiversity conservation, water security, climate change adaptation, ecosystem restoration, territorial governance and environmental finance. 

Luis has worked with public institutions, international cooperation, academia, and conservation organizations, including the Ministry of Environment of Peru, SUNASS, the University of Piura, and Nature and Culture International Peru, where he served as Executive Director. His career includes the design and implementation of initiatives related to protected areas, water-related ecosystem services, water funds, and the conservation and restoration of dry forests and Andean landscapes, promoting nature-based solutions and partnerships for climate resilience.
