Helvetas is preparing a humanitarian response

Helvetas has been active in Nepal for 70 years. Together with our local partner organizations, we are currently assessing the extent of the damage and preparing to provide emergency aid to those affected. A team of local Helvetas staff is on its way to the crisis area to assess the most urgent needs for emergency aid. These include, among other things, safe shelter, clean drinking water, emergency housing and hygiene supplies.

At the same time, damaged infrastructure and outages in power and communication networks are significantly hampering relief efforts.

Together with organizations in our network, we are coordinating the next steps to ensure that support quickly reaches those who need it most.

In a matter of minutes, many people lost their homes, their livelihoods and the security of their daily lives. Together, we can stand by them in this difficult situation. Your donation helps provide vital support quickly.
