Csilla Schalbert
Csilla Schalbert is a legal and governance professional with over 20 years of experience in EU integration, institutional reform, and civil society development. She has been working with Helvetas as International Team Leader leading the SDC-funded Civil Society Support in BiH project, and serves as Country Manager since 2024. She also contributes to Helvetas’ regional governance programming and represents the organisation in Southeast European networks. Before joining HELVETAS in 2022, she spent a decade managing EU-funded parliamentary assistance projects in Albania, Kosovo, BiH, and Moldova, supporting legislative reform, oversight, and civic participation. Between 2009 and 2011, she worked with CSOs in Central Asia on organisational development. From 2002 to 2009, she held senior advisory roles at the Hungarian Ministry of Justice, coordinating legislative policy. Csilla holds an LL.M. in Regulation Studies and a Master’s in Law. Fluent in six languages, she combines political insight, strategic leadership, and system-level thinking across complex governance settings.
