Winners of the Inclusive Initiatives Competition Announced in Pilot Districts of Kyrgyzstan

The selection committee has announced the winners of a competition aimed at supporting initiatives that strengthen social services and promote social and gender inclusion within district-level Socio-Economic Development Programs

The competition is organized under the “Public Service Improvement” project, funded by the Swiss Government and implemented by Helvetas Kyrgyzstan in partnership with the Development Policy Institute.
 
Pilot districts from the Jalal-Abad, Issyk-Kul, Chuy, and Talas regions took part in the competition. Representatives of district state administrations presented their project proposals, after which the selection committee evaluated the submissions and selected the winning initiatives.
 
Winning Projects:
 
  • Bakai-Ata District – Establishment of a district crisis center (KGS 870,000)
  • Nooken District – Development and promotion of traditional folk arts (KGS 830,000)
  • Ak-Suu District – Creation of a massage and rehabilitation center for children with cerebral palsy and other special needs (KGS 775,000)
  • Jeti-Oguz District – Opening of a speech therapy group within municipal preschool education institutions (KGS 775,000)
  • Chuy District – Establishment of a social shelter for survivors of domestic violence (KGS 700,000)
  • Aksy District – Creation of a rehabilitation speech therapy center (KGS 650,000)
 
In addition, the selection committee decided to award two encouragement grants of KGS 100,000 each to the following initiatives:
 
  • Expansion of speech therapy services at the “Nariste” Kindergarten in Bakai-Ata District
  • “Sanarip Elet – AI Hub and Business Support Center” project in Jeti-Oguz District
 
The total grant fund for the competition amounts to KGS 4.8 million.
 
Implementation of the selected projects will improve access to high-quality, demand-driven, and inclusive social services in the pilot districts, ensuring that the needs of diverse population groups are better addressed.
