Consultancy on Designing Circular Farming System for SiCoffee

Under the European Union's SWITCH-Asia programme, HELVETAS is implementing the project “Circular Economy Cocoa: From Bean to Bar,” which aims to develop circular economy solutions within the cocoa and agri-food sectors. This project, which began in 2022, is active in 6-7 cocoa-growing provinces across the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta of Vietnam.

SiCoffee – a project partner – is developing a sustainable farming model on 100 hectares in Dak R’La commune, Dak Mil district, Dak Nong province, focusing on coffee and cocoa production under circular economy principles. To support SiCoffee and foster circular agriculture models in the Central Highlands, HELVETAS and CDC are seeking consultancy services to design a closed-loop circular farming system for SiCoffee’s plantation.

The consultancy will focus on:

  • Farm planning: Designing and mapping a circular farming system that integrates cocoa, coffee, and intercropped species, adapted to local terrain, soils, and ecosystems.

  • Technology and solutions: Proposing feasible technologies and technical solutions for crop production, livestock integration, and agricultural by-product utilization under circular economy principles.

  • Development roadmap: Preparing a long-term development plan and phased investment roadmap tailored to SiCoffee’s business potential and technical requirements of the farming system.

This model is expected to serve as a reference for replication across other agribusinesses in the Central Highlands.
