Consultancy Service: Evaluation of biochar effectiveness on soil health and cocoa performance in Vinh Long and HCMC

Under the SWITCH-Asia program of the European Union, Helvetas is implementing the project “Circular Economy Cocoa: From Bean to Bar.” The project aims to develop circular economy solutions in cocoa and other agri-food sectors, leading to equitable economic growth decoupled from harmful environmental impacts. The project is being implemented over four years (2022-2026) in 6-7 key cacao-growing provinces in the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta regions of Vietnam.

Helvetas, in collaboration with Marou Chocolate JSC, is seeking qualified consultant(s) or a consulting agency to evaluate the practical effectiveness of the existing biochar-based soil improvement solutions on soil health and cocoa performance across three (03) cocoa demonstration farms, review and refine the site-specific formulas, and provide practical recommendations for their continued implementation and potential wider adoption in cocoa farming.
