The Head of Cooperation at the Swiss Embassy in Mozambique, Ilaria Dali, visited the Natuco Healthcare Facility and the District Women's and Social Action Service (SDSMAS) in Mecúfi-Sede (both located in the district of Mecufi), in Cabo Delgado province, as part of the Health Promotion Project implemented by Helvetas Mozambique in that province, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
During the visit to the two infrastructures recently rehabilitated by Helvetas Mozambique following the destruction caused by Cyclone Chido in December last year, Ilaria Dali was accompanied by the Program Officer at the Swiss Embassy, Milton Saranga.
The visitors were received at the highest level by the Director of SDSMAS, Belito Antonio Feniasse, representing the Administrator of the district of Mecúfi, and they toured the two rehabilitated infrastructures, which are already in operation and with services restored, including water supply through a distribution network and a rainwater harvesting system, at an estimated cost of over five million meticais.
“The restoration work on the infrastructure is visible, as the district was severely affected by Cyclone Chido and the interventions made by the project have helped the district to recover,” said Ilaria Dali.
