At least 100 youth (of which 50 are women) and 20 service providers (artisan) from Nampula and Niassa provinces were trained last April in entrepreneurship and small business management, under the project HOJE (Habilidade mais Oportunidade resulta em Jovem com Emprego), implemented by HELVETAS Mozambique.

The training had the partnership and support of SOCINNE (Business Incubator) and benefited 70 youth (including artisans) in Nampula province, of which 25 in Nampula city, 30 in Nacala-Porto, 15 in Ribáué). In Cuamba district, Niassa province, 30 youth were trained in these areas of entrepreneurship and small business management, making a total of 100 beneficiaries.

Since its implementation in 2020, until this part, the project HOJE has contributed to the training of a universe of 1276 youth, 555 of which are women, through the approach of the Cooperative Groups and Training Institutes. Of the total number of youth trained, more than 800 (of which 282 are women) managed to enter the labor market and just over 470 are in self-employment.

The training in entrepreneurship and small business management had a duration of 2 days per district and covered among other topics, Investment and Savings, Accounting, Strength, Opportunity, Weakness and Threat Analysis (SWOT) and Preparation and Management of Business Plans.
