From February 15 to February 24, 2020, a group of six travel bloggers from Kazakhstan, Russia, the USA, Canada and Australia visited Kyrgyzstan for a familiarization tour aimed at highlighting the country's winter tourism potential.

The familiarization tour included not only visits to ski resorts and natural attractions, but also active winter tourism activities - skiing and snowboarding freeriding, paragliding, as well as cultural events that represent Kyrgyzstan as an attractive country for winter travel.

Bloggers, in turn, shared their impressions on their social networks, talking about Kyrgyzstan, as well as opportunities for tourists from around the world represented in our country. It is worth noting that users of social networks leave a lot of enthusiastic comments under the posts of bloggers, admiring the picturesque landscapes of Kyrgyzstan, and also share their experience of visiting our country.

The ten-days program started with participation at the Mountain Ski Festival at ZIL ski base, from where the group travelled to Chunkurchak ski base and ethno-resort Supara, further down to Ak-Suu region in Issyk Kul to experience freeride skiing and staying at the backcountry winter yurt campin Jyrgalan.

General public can follow on bloggers' posts using the #DiscoverKyrgyzstan hashtag or the DiscoverKyrgyzstan social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

This activity is made possible by the Sustainable Winter Tourism Development Project funded by the Government of Switzerland through the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and implemented by Helvetas Kyrgyzstan as well as by the support of the American People through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs Activity in Central Asia and the Department of Tourism under the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.
