Study Visit of Local Self-Government Representatives to the Bishkek Waste-to-Energy Plant
On 12 October 2026, representatives of local self-government bodies took part in a study visit to the waste-to-energy plant in Bishkek. The event was organized within the framework of the Public Service Improvement Project, funded by the Swiss Government and implemented by Helvetas and the Development Policy Institute.
On 12 October 2026, representatives of local self-government bodies, municipal enterprises, and district state administrations from Issyk-Kul and Chui regions visited the waste-to-energy plant in Bishkek. The program included a guided tour of the facility, an introduction to the waste processing technologies, and discussions on modern approaches to solid waste management.
Participants included heads of ayil aimaks, directors of municipal enterprises, representatives of district administrations, as well as members of the project team and partner organizations.
