                            After an agricultural apprenticeship and internships in India, Kenya and Burkina Faso, Marie Garnier graduated as an agricultural engineer specialising in rural economics at ETH Zurich. As a young mother, she is engaged in an ecology office. Able to find solutions that reconcile nature conservation and agriculture, she worked mainly in this field until 1997. For 14 years Marie Garnier directed the Centre Pro Natura de Champ-Pittet, a centre for environmental education. From 2000, she was elected successively to the Constituent of the Canton of Fribourg, then to the communal executive and finally to the cantonal executive until April 2018.
