The project "Vietnam Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation" (VFBC) is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented for 5 years from July 2020 to June 2025. The project's objectives are to reduce greenhouse emissions, increase carbon sequestration from production forests that are natural forests and plantations in Vietnam, and conserve biodiversity in forest areas with high biodiversity value in the country.

Sub-Component 6, Component 2 of the project implemented by Helvetas Vietnam aims to improve livelihoods for communities living in buffer zones of national protected areas through promoting conservation-friendly enterprises and production. The 3 main groups of activities of Sub-Component 6 include: 1) Increasing incomes through developing sustainable, efficient, and forest-friendly NTFP and high-value agriculture value chains; (2) Increasing incomes & job generation through community-based ecotourism; and (3) Providing employment and income opportunities for hunters, illegal loggers, and their families.

To support the implementation of activities to develop organic chili value chains according to US (USDA), European (EU) and Japanese (JAS) standards in Quang Binh province, Helvetas is seeking experts with in-depth practical experience in training for planting, tending and cultivation record keeping according to US organic standards, EU and JAS for households linking production with cooperatives in the value chain in Quang Binh province.
