The project “Organic spice cultivation to promote diversification and sustainable land use in Cao Bang (Vietnam)” is implemented from April 2024 to December 2025. The Project is funded by the Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL) and implemented by HELVETAS Intercooperation GmbH, with partners of Cha Do and DACE. HELVETAS takes responsibility for managing and monitoring the project implementation.

The project outcomes are:

  • Improved farming practices and diversification of the spice production of 5 key crops in the two districts Ha Quang and Thach An of Cao Bang
  • Sustainable land use planning and landscape restoration in 2 districts

In partnership with the German organic tea and spice company Cha Dô Teehandels GmbH, and the Vietnamese company DACE, the project aims to pioneer replicable models for a farming system that, rather than being a risk to the environment, can become buffer zones and corridors to link biodiversity hotspots.

The main aim of this assignment is to provide translation services for a 2-day workshop ToT on composting and good agriculture practices in Cao Bang, Vietnam, with around 30 participants from DARD, DACE extension workers, and lead farmers of DACE.
