The conversations leading up to COP21 have the potential to reshape the way the world confronts emerging challenges, while taking advantage of opportunities to build better, more resilient urban and rural communities, economies, and livelihoods.

The book shares the experiences generated through the implementation of practices that strenghten resilience under conditions of a changing climate. The main players in this story are rural peasant families and communities that live in poverty in the highland watersheds of Peru.

Hydro-meteorological Hazards, vulnerabilities and coping strategies in Pakistan

Using empirical data from eight clusters (41 villages) in Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, this study contributes to the discussion and understanding of the occurrence, impacts of natural hydro-meteorological hazards on local livelihoods and importance of various livelihood assets for coping strategies.
