Sarina Prabasi was born in the Netherlands, raised in India, China and Nepal, and spent formative years in the United States and Ethiopia. Most recently, she served as the CEO of WaterAid America, and previously as the Deputy Chief of Programs for Orbis International. Following a career leading initiatives in global health, education, water and sanitation, Sarina moved with her husband, Elias, from Addis Ababa to New York City, where they Co-Founded Buunni Coffee together. She is also the author is author of The Coffeehouse Resistance: Brewing Hope in Desperate Times (Green Writers Press, April, 2019). In addition to Helvetas USA, Sarina serves on the Boards of the Specialty Coffee Association, and the People's Theater Project. Sarina has an undergraduate degree from Smith College, in Northamption, Massachusetts and a Master’s in Development Studies from SOAS, in London, UK.
